Head Chef Rachel Lewis
Meet Head Chef Rachel Lewis, the culinary force behind our new restaurant experience.
Rachel Lewis is the Head Chef at Port Hope Golf and Country Club, bringing over 15 years of professional experience in the culinary industry. A Red Seal–certified Chef and Gold Seal Butcher, Rachel offers a rare combination of culinary leadership and advanced whole-animal butchery skills, allowing her to approach menu development with both creativity and technical precision.
She graduated from Niagara College in 2015 and further refined her craft at the Seaway Valley Meat Cutting Institute in 2020.
Rachel’s career includes valuable international experience working in South Africa, where she was exposed to diverse culinary traditions, bold flavors, and global cooking techniques that continue to influence her style today.
Her cooking philosophy is rooted in a strong farm-to-table approach, emphasizing locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and close relationships with regional farmers and suppliers. She is committed to showcasing the natural quality of ingredients while creating menus that are both refined and approachable.
In addition to her culinary expertise, Rachel emphases on proper wine pairings, thoughtfully designing menus that complement and elevate the dining experience. She values the balance between food and wine, ensuring that each pairing enhances flavor, texture, and overall enjoyment for guests.
With a passion for quality, sustainability, and memorable dining, Rachel strives to deliver elevated culinary experiences that reflect both her technical skill and her dedication to thoughtful, well-rounded hospitality.
